BankTravel Conference opens registration
SALEM, Ohio - Registration for the 2011 BankTravel Conference opened on June 1 for bankers and travel industry members. The Feb. 6-8 Conference will be held in Baton Rouge, La., at the Hilton Baton Rouge Capitol Center and the Sheraton Baton Rouge Convention Center.
Gaylord announces its reopening date
NASHVILLE, Tenn. - A month after 10 feet of water filled the beautiful Cascades Lobby of the Gaylord Opryland Resort and Convention Center, the company has announced they plan to reopen on Nov. 15. The storms of May 2 flooded the Gaylord Opryland's properties, which prompted the company to evacuate almost 1,500 guests.
Five national parks to receive facelift
CANTON, Mass. - A new Wild Gardens bog, renovated mountain trails and newly added native plants will help spruce up five of America's national parks with Save Our Sites grants from the nonprofit charity, Tourism Cares. Announced on May 28, the grants were chosen by a voting round this spring where travelers could vote for destinations they wanted to preserve and enhance.
